25 Most Interesting Looks in Met Gala 2016

It's that time of the year again, when Anna Wintour calls on the chosen ones to flock the Annual Met Charity Gala. This year, the board has chosen the theme Manus X Machina, to celebrate the union of fashion and technology. Met Gala is like the Oscars of the fashion world and the only time when the outrageous is praised and the safe, booed. While the event has never lacked in fanfare before, this year's event found ourselves looking for our regulars in the Wow-WTF department.

Since the theme is leaning towards tech, most of them headed towards metallic and bling. If I was there, I would have gone blind due to all the shiny pieces. Sequins, diamonds, glitz- the Met Ball has it all.

So instead of making a 'Best Dressed List', I prepared this 'Most Interesting List' for Met Gala 2016. Well, the most interesting for me anyway. (Actually, it was just so hard to choose the best dressed cos so many of them looked good!) I didn't bother including those who looked generic or similar to the others since we've already seen that.

Disclaimer: THIS IS A LONG POST. I only included 25 looks I've commented on and are arranged alphabetically. All photos are not mine.

Alexa Chung
Resident cool girl Alexa brought a whole new meaning to pinstripes. Love it!
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton
I love her Viking-ish look! It just works.
Beyonce in Givenchy
So glad 'Yonce stuck to the theme this time. Lol. Is the latex reminiscent of Becky's skin??? HAHA!
Blake Lively in Burberry
As expected, our Serena looked beautiful in this blush Burberry number. It's just frustrating how she didn't incorporate any of the theme. :(
Brie Larson in Proenza Schouler
I'm getting major posh robot feels with Brie's look but the layers added a softness to it. The ribbon is a nice touch too.
Claire Danes in Zack Posen
Cinderella is in the house everyone! And if you haven't seen the photos circulating social media yet, this is the same dress that glows in the dark. Yes you read, it freaking glows in the dark. I want one. Now that's how you incorporate ManusXMachina!
Dakota Fanning in Nina Ricci
Black just goes so well with this girl. I know she didn't incorporate the theme but I really like her so I'm biased lol.
Elle Fanning in Thakoon
Another Fanning sister who kicked asses at the red carpet is Elle. Her champagne-colored Thakoon slip gown is just perfect for her. The a-line, bust, and train is magnificent in all angles. The way she wore the high ponytail made it kinda Machina. Kinda.
Emma Roberts in Tory Burch
When you know a color that works for you, you use it. That is what Emma did in this violet-pink ombre gown by Tory Burch.
Emma Watson in Calvin Klein
Emma is no doubt one of the must-watch stars of the generation. Apart from her wicked intellect (like Hermione's), her impeccable style is a hit. The pants-dress combo has been a recurring feature in her looks, just like in this year's Gala.
Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa
Supermodel Karolina is one of the people I look forward to seeing every Met. This year, like others, she didn't disappoint with this ethereal gown and its lights.
Kate Bosworth in Dolce & Gabbana
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the epitome of Manus X Machina. She looks like a futuristic warrior princess. Lol

Kendall Jenner in Atelier Versace
Hubad pa te! Chos. I have no other words so I'll just copy what one Twitter account (I forgot who) said about Kenny's dress (non-verbatim): The perfect dress showing both the work of hand and machine!

Kirsten Steward in Chanel
KStew's make-up is PERFECTION. I'm not really digging the dress since it looks like a feather duster to me. The crop and leather details are a nice touch.
Kylie Jenner in Balmain
I admit, there were others who wore dresses almost similar to this but I chose Kylie over them since this is her first Met Gala. I'm also glad she didn't show too much skin for her first because she really looked classy. She can do that on her next years lol. Also, her bob! So nice.
Lady Gaga in Atelier Versace
Lady Gaga! Her jacket is everything Machina stands for! And have you seen her shoes?! Or her pants, for that matter? Lol
Lupita Nyong'o in Calvin Klein
We all know how Lupita does red carpet and nothing goes wrong. Oh wait, her look last year for Met is not so bet. LOL. Anyway, to add drama to her metallic seafoam green gown, is her hairdo tower!
Naomi Campbell in Roberto Cavalli
Cut-outs people! You want cut-outs? Here you go. This dress is such a classic Roberto Cavalli design that upon seeing it, you'll know where it came from.
Naomi Watts in Burberry
Naomi's make up made her look so young! She looks so radiant. Or maybe that's because of all the reflection coming from her silver gown? The black belt(?) cinched her waist to show off her figure.
Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa
Another one of my favorites!!! This is probably one of the best Marchesa dresses I've seen worn to red carpet so far. I like that she didn't go overboard with her clutch and shoes.
Selena Gomez in Louis Vuitton
It's like she forgot about the theme all together and just added the leather vest and boots last minute lol. Love her make up though! She looks so FRESH.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Monse
We were expecting outrageous SJP. What the hell is that!!! Where's the big ball gowns, headpieces??? FINE, I like your shoes.
Zendaya in Michael Kors
If I were to choose, Zendaya won best dressed hands down. This just goes to prove she can wear anything and still rock it.
Zoe Kravitz in Valentino Haute Couture
Zoe kept things interesting by wearing a lace mask, also by Valentino.
Zoe Saldana in Dolce & Gabbana
Zoe's gowns are always on point. She did an amazing job rocking the long train of this peacock-ish gown.

Of course, I shouldn't forget the chair of Met Gala, Anna Wintour-

No, I didn't include Taylor Swift because she honestly reminded me of Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl. No Katy Perry either cos she looked like she's about to draw from the Reaping bowl and announce the names of people joining the Hunger Games, so no. Haha!

And that's it for this year's Met Gala! xx
