A week before Holy Week, I was pestering my best friend so we can go out of town. Holy Tuesday evening, he vibered me asking if I want to go to Marinduque, so come Wednesday morning, we've decided we will go.
It's that time of the year again, when Anna Wintour calls on the chosen ones to flock the Annual Met Charity Gala. This year, the board has chosen the theme Manus X Machina, to celebrate the union of fashion and technology. Met Gala is like the Oscars of the fashion world and the only time when the outrageous is praised and the safe, booed. While the event has never lacked in fanfare before, this year's event found ourselves looking for our regulars in the Wow-WTF department.
Since the theme is leaning towards tech, most of them headed towards metallic and bling. If I was there, I would have gone blind due to all the shiny pieces. Sequins, diamonds, glitz- the Met Ball has it all.
So instead of making a 'Best Dressed List', I prepared this 'Most Interesting List' for Met Gala 2016. Well, the most interesting for me anyway. (Actually, it was just so hard to choose the best dressed cos so many of them looked good!) I didn't bother including those who looked generic or similar to the others since we've already seen that.
The last time I've been to Baguio was more than 13 years ago. I remember how my tita told me how lucky I am being only 8 years old and have been to Baguio since not many people begin traveling at a young age. I guess I took that to heart and made sure that I get to visit different places as much as I can.
So when a colleague mentioned that her sister lives in Baguio, we jumped at the opportunity to go for Panagbenga. It's one of the festivals of the Philippines that I always wanted to see in person. February came around and off we go to the City of Pines. Our trip happened a week after I went to Baler. It was a good thing that it was cold in Baguio since I just used my beach clothes. Lol. One of my best friends mentioned that it was a miracle I'm going to a non-beach location. Haha!
I live by the quote "It's always summer somewhere" by Lilly Pulitzer as much as I can. For 2016, I started my summer getaway in mid-February and went to Baler (yes, again) with family. Despite having visited it a year ago, we still went to the usual tourist spots to rediscover the town. I swear every time I go back, I feel like it's welcoming me home.
Now, I won't bore you in saying why you should visit the place. I've done it here and here. I'll just show you some of my favorite photos taken during the trip.
2016 is completely underway and the new season calls for the freshest releases from the fashion and style industry. In December 2015, Pantone® announced that the for the first time ever, there will be two colors of the year. The said colors taking center stage are Rose Quartz and Serenity. Both are light pastel shades that will go well with outfits this coming summer. Listed below are some ideas on how you can incorporate these colors in your everyday wear.
Less is More
The age-old advice is still true to this day. Choose silhouettes that will not overpower the lightness of the color. There’s no need to get items that have both colors in it, otherwise it will look tacky. Go simple and let the colors do the talking.
I personally like this Escada dress because of its silhouette and clean lines.
